Das Hotel hat die Erwartungen an Ausstattung und Lage voll erfüllt. An die abendliche Animation sollte man keine zu großen Ansprüche stellen. Die angebotene Verpflegung ist reichhaltig, schmackhaft und fast in 14 Tagen ohne Wiederholung geblieben. Das üblich Liegen reservieren am Pool ist auch leider hier normal. Am Strand kann man 2 Liegen + Schirm für 7 € täglich mieten. Was schlecht ist. Rund ums Hotel ist mehr oder weniger nichts los. Die Busverbindungen nach Alcudia und Can Picafort werden leider zwischen 22:00 Uhr und 22:45 Uhr eingestellt, so das eine spätere Rückreise nur noch mit Taxi möglich ist.

Hallo Viva Team,
unser Urlaub im Hotel Viva Bahia war superschön: Wir waren bereits das 2. Mal in diesem Hotel – dieses Mal mit 2 Kindern. Es hat uns alles gut gefallen – der Service war sehr gut, die Mitarbeiter, sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend, das Essen sehr gut. die Lage, Ausstattung einfach Klasse.
Das einzige was wir als negativ empfunden haben, war der langsame Service abends im Barbereich vor der Bühne während des Abendprogramms- wahrscheinlich lag das einfach an zu wenig Personal.
Wir haben uns sehr gut in dem Urlaub erholt und denken, das wir bestimmt wieder einmal Gäste im Viva Bahia sein werden.
Also ein großes Lob an das Hotel Team und “weiter so”!

i went to the appartments viva bahia with my family and i really enjoyed it. the facillities are good and you dont even have to get up really early to get your sun beds hehe. only problem was once the entertainment had finished alot of people went to bed or on their balconys due to younger childern. this meant that the place was dead by half elleven. it is best to go into can’picafor town or to playa de muro town.

Hotel Viva Bahia “A High Quality Hotel & a comparison to adjacent Alcudia Pins”

We stayed at Viva Bahia for two weeks in August 2005. We discovered this place during a two week stay at the adjacent Alcudia Pins in June 2004. This review contrasts the two hotels.

Clientele: Viva reception told me that about 60% of their guests are Scandinavian, I guess the rest are 35% German and 5% British and Spanish. When we arrived and looked round, my wife and I joked that we now appeared to be amongst the “beautiful people”… never before have I seen such a concentration of tanned blondes. The hotel and grounds were much prettier, cleaner and quieter than Alcudia Pins. All instructions and announcements were in multiple languages including English, all the shows are in English. So don’t worry about language barriers. We also met some very nice people there – a big Hi to Danielle and Nicole who helped play with & entertain our kids.

By contrast, Pins clients seemed to be almost exclusively British. Pins is a great place to admire body art. In a quick survey one afternoon I saw that one out of every 5 people had a visible tattoo. Some tattoos were very artistic, others just said “England”. The Pins pool and rows of sunlounger was very crowded and loud, it’s a big pool with a popular water-slide. At the end of the afternoons the water looked murky and unpleasant.

Hotel Cleanliness: Viva was flawlessly clean. Every morning a small army of green-clad staff cleaned and tidied everything including floors and sunloungers.

Pins is also cleaned every day; the main difference is that at Viva, the clientele keep the place clean, at Pins the clientele make and leave a huge mess. We were disgusted to see the rubbish left near or under sunloungers at the end of each day at Pins; several other reviewers commented on this too, papers, wrappers, cans, left over food – even used nappies.

Hotel Layout and appearance:
Viva consists of several 3-floor apartment blocks in a roughly horseshoe shaped layout, the open end of the horseshoe opening to the circular pool-bar building beyond which lies the white sandy beach. The pool, entertainment areas and restaurant outdoor seating areas are all in the centre of the horseshoe. Dozens of trees provide shade where people can sit to talk, drink, read, play cards and so on. The main pool is spanned by a small footbridge, a segregated shallow end-section of the pool is perfect for smaller children. Sunloungers and sunshades loosely circle the pool.

I recommend you request a pool-view apartment if you want to avoid overlooking the adjacent hotels or the road. We also avoided the ground floor for security reasons. Each apartment has a balcony, the facades are cunningly indented and pastel-colour painted to give the appearance of a small village. To maintain the appearance, Viva requests that guests do not hang towels over the balconies to dry – this works and the place just looks great. Even the internal corridors are light, spacious and clean.

Pins is much larger complex – the same horseshoe design but with some additional parallel accommodation blocks. The design and colour scheme is more uniform, offset by a random multi-coloured tapestry of beach-towels draped over most balconies. There are far fewer shady open areas, the sunloungers were arranged in tightly packed rows where people (many painfully scarlet) lay elbow to elbow devoted to sun-worship. Amazingly there were no sunshades at all in June 2004 – although this year I saw that some had now been installed.. maybe in response to customer complaints?

Getting a Sunlounger: The stereotype of the Germans getting up early to place towels on sunloungers needs an update. At Pins we were amused to see most sunloungers reserved by 6am – and that’s with a British clientele! It’s just how things worked there – if you didn’t reserve a sunlounger very early on, you didn’t get to use one at all.

Things are far more civilised at Viva: there’s a hotel rule that no sunloungers may be reserved before 9:15. This rule was obeyed by most people – and the miscreants determined to challenge the system fell foul of Plan B: “Juan”. Juan was one of the hotel maintenance team who had an additional morning duty to harvest up orphaned towels. Watching his significant frame striding purposefully and grimly along the sunloungers gathering up towels gave me much pleasure. Vacant sunloungers can be found in the afternoons and there’s a sunshade to roughly every 3 or 4 sunloungers.

Entertainment & activities for kids:
A team of mainly Swedish entertainers handle all daytime and evening events (but they are supplemented by the “Viva Flying Team” or external performers for some shows). They are an eclectic bunch. Just a mention a few: Emma, classic pretty Swedish looks with high cheekbones and blonde hair bunched up and the most fascinating range of facial expressions. Johan, a tall blonde Swede, reminds me of a young David Bowie and has a great talent for face painting. Andreas, Swedish again, has a zany sense of humour that has us laughing every night; Kelly, a native Majorcan brunette was our daughter’s favourite.

The evenings start with a “mini-disco” on and in front of the stage, a chance for the kids to dance and play. This introduces the hotel’s narcoleptic superhero dog mascot called BUFO, whose role is to wait for the kids for scream for him to appear.. then to fall asleep and wait for the kids to scream loud enough to wake him again. Banal, but the younger kids love it!

Following that there’s a stage show for kids like Cinderalla then later a show for the adults.. anything from Abba to Queen. The singing and dancing was good enough for my appreciation – but I think the Pins team may be slightly more “professional”.

Audience participation games take place at both hotels. For example drinking through straws, dancing, or collecting items of clothing from the audience. The Pins ones were slightly more risqué, ones I remember include the “coin in the bum game” and reciting tongue twisters like “Old Mrs Hunt had a rough cut punt….” If you don’t fancy taking part, simply don’t volunteer.

Viva has a daily kids club with a range of activities, though we think the oganisation and running of these activities could have been improved. There are ping pong and pool tables, minigolf, various arcade games, a sandy playground section with slides, swings etc and even a (free) bouncy castle. But there are no crèche or babysitting options at all.

Pins has many on-site shops and additional facilities such as the hire of battery driven kiddie-cars (you can exploit those even if you stay in Viva Bahia)

Eating out: Viva has a main restaurant and a pool bar serving a wide range of meals, There are other beach restaurants withini strolling distance or you can take a bus (or even a water-bus from the pier on the beach) to other places.

Eating in: With a two and a five year old, we decided to go self-catering. This is where the otherwise outstanding Viva facilities proved surprising modest. The apartment kitchenettes are equipped with just 2 hot rings, a fridge with small freezer section plus a sink and crockery. There was no toaster, kettle, microwave, grill or oven. This is a minor inconvenience and with a little imagination you can get by just fine (I toasted bread on a hot ring and fried a ready-made pizza J) I still find it strange that Viva lets you rent a bicycle, a roomsafe, a cot, lets you borrow towels for the pool but does not even offer the rent of more kitchen appliances. Perhaps they want to encourage people to use their restaurants. Both hotels have mini-supermarkets onsite and nearby for grocery shopping – but you pay for the convenience. The Pins one has a wider range of products, the Viva one has some Swedish and German specialities. Full-size and cheaper supermarkets are a few minutes drive away in C’an Picafort or Alcudia.

Summary: we chose to stay at Alcudia Pins in 2004 for two reasons: its location right by a great beach and the advertised child entertainment, crèche with some evening baby-sitting facilities. We had a good time despite the crowds, the mess and the somewhat shambolic running of the creche. Pins has developed a reputation as “Butlins in the Sun”. If you want to be surrounded by fellow Brits in a very large and busy hotel, do battle for the tightly packed sunloungers and step through the mess at the end of the day – then this is indeed the place for you.

But after one evenings visit to Viva Bahia we were determined to stay at Viva Bahia next time. Viva Bahia is a fantastic hotel, far superior to Alcudia Pins in most respects. I would happily return to Viva Bahia. It’s smaller, cleaner, calmer, prettier and altogether more civilised that Pins. Would you fly economy if you were offered business class?

Went with my wife and young daughter of 6, we had a great time. Great location on a beautiful beach, great weather, lots to do. The apartments were great, just a few problems with getting hot water, but great apartments nevertheless. Would go again.

Insgesamt haben wir in dem Hotel vorgefunden was auch im Katalog beschrieben war. Wir waren zufrieden und würden jederzeit wiederkommen, allerdings nur für 1 Woche.
Besonders hervorzuheben ist sicher die Bewirtung in der Poolbar. Qualtiät, Auswahl und Preis-Leistung sind hier wirklich klasse. Abgerundet wird das ganze noch durch einen tollen Meerblick und schneller Service.
Die “Shows” am Abend waren dagegen eher zum weglaufen.

sehr schön gelegene Appartment- Hotelanlage am südlichen Ende der Bucht von Alcudia, im Ortsteil Playa de Muro. Nach Port D´Alcudia sind es ca. 6 km, nach C´an Picafort ca. 3 km. Das Hotel liegt in einer sehr ruhigen Seitenstraße. Es besteht aus Hauptgebäude mit Rezeption, Internetecke (für 1 € gibts 12 Minuten), Fitnessraum, Waschraum (3 Waschmaschinen, 3 Trockner, kostenlos, nur Waschmittel mitbringen) und 2 weiteren Wohngebäuden, die um die Poollandschaft integriert sind. Insgesamt max. 4 Etagen. Die Appartments zur Seite des benachbarten Iberostar-Hotels sind sehr ruhig, die Appartments zur Poolseite sind wg. der Abendanimation bis ca. 23 Uhr etwas lauter. Sehr lästig soll wohl die Geräuschkulisse des Nachbarhotels “Alcudia Pins” auf der anderen Seite sein – wurde uns von anderen Gästen erzählt. Das Hotel verfügt über 260 Appartments, wirkt aber nicht wie eine Bettenburg. Die gesamte Anlage ist sehr gepflegt und super sauber. Zimmerreinigung 5x pro Woche, Handtuchwechsel nach Wunsch, Bettwäsche 2x pro Woche. Man kann für Pool und Strand an der Rezeption Handtücher ausleihen (Kaution 5 €). Das Hotel ist auf Familien ausgerichtet. Schöner Kinderspielplatz, jede Menge Sandspielsachen vorhanden. Kleinerer Babypool und für die Größeren abgegrenzter Bereich im großen Pool. Poollandschaft fanden wir sehr schön, wenn zuweilen auch etwas voll. Liegen mit Sonnenschirm am Pool inclusive, aber relativ eng. Positiv war, daß die Liegen bis ca. 9.15 Uhr regelmäßig von “Handtuchreservierungen” befreit wurden (Handtücher wurden vom Personal eingesammelt). Gästestruktur vorwiegend Familien mit (kleinen) Kindern. Hauptsächlich Deutsche und Skandinavier, ein paar Holländer und Engländer. Anlage ist behindertenfreundlich eingerichtet.
Das Frühstücks- und Abendbuffet ist ein Gedicht. Sehr große Auswahl und immer sehr lecker. Abwechslungsreich, es gab von allem etwas. Die Essenszeiten sind ok (Frühstück von 8-10.30 und Abendessen von 18-21 Uhr).

Location

das Hotel liegt direkt am flach abfallenden, feinsandigen Strand. Shuttel-Schiffsanlegestelle in unmittelbarer Nähe (Linienverkehr nach Port D´Alcudia, einfache Fahrt 5€, Kinder zahlen die Hälfte).
Günstiger ist der Linienbus (Fahrplan und Auskünfte erhält man an der Rezeption. Bus fährt ca. alle 15 Minuten, Haltestelle ist nur 2 Minuten entfernt, Fahrpreis für 2 Erw. + 2 Kinder war 4€ nach Alcudia-Altstadt). In der direkten Nachbarschaft sind ein Iberostar-Hotel und das Alcudia Pins, Supermarkt und Geldautomat direkt vor dem Hotel. Wer Abends wert auf Action legt, sollte hier nicht herkommen, denn die Flaniermeile von Alcudia ist doch ein ganz schönes Stück weit entfernt (was uns ganz recht war, denn wir wollten es ruhig haben). Direkt hinter dem Hotel beginnt der Naturpark “S´Albufera”, eine Sumpflandschaft, die wir nicht weiter erkundet haben. Empfehlenswert ist, ein Auto zu mieten und die Insel auf eigene Faust zu entdecken. Wir haben über das Internet gebucht und waren mit dem örtlichen Vermieter sehr zufrieden. Wir haben für einen Golf+ für 7 Tage mit Hotelzustellung ca. 200€ bezahlt. Kindersitze haben wir von zu Hause mitgebracht, da die Preise mit 3,50 p.T. und Sitz ziemlich hoch waren. Nach unseren Beobachtungen bekam man von den Autovermietern entweder richtige Babyschalen/ Kleinkindersitze (ähnlich Römer King) oder für größere Kinder nur noch Sitzerhöhungen. Da lohnt es sich, bei größeren Kindern (unsere sind 3 Jahre) die Sitzkissen im Flugzeug mitzubringen (problemlos bei Air Berlin).
Lohnende Ausflugsziele sind: Cap Formentor (abends), Sa Calobra (um 9 Uhr spätestens losfahren), Soller (mit dem Zug ab Bunyola, Hin- und Rückfahrt mit dem “Roten Blitz” für 9 €, Kinder die Hälfte), Palma (früh starten), der Markt von Sineu (Mittwochs, früh starten) und unsere Zufalls-Spezial-Entdeckung: Reserva de Galazo bei Puigpunyent (ein Wildpark zum Erwandern mitten in den Bergen des Tramuntana-Gebirges, Tiere life, herrlich angelegte Bademöglichkeit in der Mitte des Parks. Unbedingt Badesachen mitnehmen.). Der Eintritt war zwar recht gesalzen (um 25 € für Erwachsene), aber er war es wert. Lt. Reisefüher sollte man in 2 Std. durch sein, wir haben mit den Kindern 4 Stunden gebraucht, war aber ok. Ebenfalls sehehswert ist die Altstadt von Alcudia
Die Transferzeit vom Flughafen Palma zum Hotel betrug ca. 1 Stunde. Check-in und Check-out gingen zügig und problemlos vonstatten.

Service

Das Personal war durchweg sehr freundlich, größtenteils auch des Deutschen mächtig. Verständigung in der Regel problemlos. Reichlich Kartenmaterial für Ausflüge und gute Tips gabs an der Rezeption obendrein, man muß nur nachfragen. Sehr angenehm waren die kostenlosen Waschmaschinen. Sie sind im Dauereinsatz, man muß halt ein bisschen hartnäckig sein, dann erwischt man schon auch zuverlässig eine freie Maschine.
Sollte mal was nicht funktionieren, ist die Rezeption sehr um Abhilfe bemüht. Wir hatten ein technisches Problem im Appartment, das wurde selbst Sonntag morgens innerhalb von 2 Std. behoben. Top. Es gibt wohl täglich eine Arztsprechstunde im Hotel, die wir glücklicherweise nicht testen mußten.
Man ist sehr auf Kinder eingerichtet. Im Restaurant kann man Ikea-Geschirr für die Kinder haben, es hat genug Hochstühle.
Auf Wunsch steht im Appartment ein Safe zur Verfügung. Der Preis ist mit 32€ für 2 Wochen allerdings nicht ganz günstig.
Besonders angenehm fanden wir, daß der Kühlschrank im Appartment mit Gefrierfach ausgestattet war. So haben wir vor längeren Ausflügen einfach die Getränkeflaschen eingefroren, dann hatten wir am nächsten Tag unterwegs länger kühle Getränke. Sehr praktisch ist auch der Wäschständer auf der riesigen Terrasse/Balkon.

Gastronomy

Es gibt ein à la carte-Restaurant, das wir nicht genutzt haben, da wir Halbpension hatten. Das Frühstücksbuffet war sehr reichlich, ebenso das Abendbuffet. Speisenangebot ist breit gefächert (auch viel Fisch und Lamm). Wir hatten 2x das Glück eines “Mallorquinischen Abends” mit Paella und anderen inseltypischen Speisen. Getränkepreise sind “Naja”. Für 0,5l Wasser bezahlt man 1,70€, ein Bier 0,5l kostete 2,55€
Wer beim Essen nicht satt wird ist selbst schuld. Das Buffet ist spiegelbildlich angeordnet, sodaß wir eigentlich nie großartig irgendwo anstehen mußten. Abends wird eine Hälfte des Buffets gegen 20 Uhr abgeräumt, da die andere Seite aber die selbe Auswahl bietet, stört das nicht weiter. Alles in allem sehr sauber und Essen sehr gut. Wir bekamen keine Probleme (außer Extra-Kilos).

Sport & Entertainment

Das Animationsprogramm tagsüber verläuft sehr diskret. Man wird nicht belästigt und auch nicht dauerbeschallt. Es werden Beachvolleyball, Wasserball, Aerobic und ähnliche Dinge für die Erwachsenen angeboten, für Kinder gibts den Bufo-Kinderclub (ab 4 Jahre). Abends Minidisco, allabendlich gleich, meine Tochter fand das super, weil sie dann mitsingen konnte. Die späten Shows haben wir nicht direkt mitverfolgt. Viel Musical, was wir mitbekommen haben war gar nicht mal schlecht.
Die Poolanlage ist schön, tagsüber aber auch gut besucht. Schwimmen darf man bis 21 Uhr, danach wird das Wasser chemisch behandelt. Am Pool gibt es 2 Duschen und Toiletten.
Der Strand ist in unmittelbarer Nähe, nur ein paar Schritte entfernt. An sehr windigen Tagen hatten wir angeschwemmtes Seegras am Ufer, wodurch das Wasser dann dreckig aussah. War aber meist nur 1m breit, danach wieder klares sauberes Wasser. Auch der Strand war recht sauber. Wenn man vom Strand zurückkommt, kann man die Füße an einer kleinen Fußdusche abwaschen, damit nicht der ganze Sand im Pool od. Hotel landet. Sehr praktisch.
Nicht so der Hit war die Strandbar. Zwar ein nettes Häuschen mit Blick zum Meer, aber Geschmack und Preis der Speisen waren nicht so überzeugend. Wir haben lieber in unserer kl. Küche einen Snack zubereitet wenn nötig, denn abends war das Essen ja dann umso reichlicher und leckerer.

Room

Appartment Typ B hat ein Schlafzimmer (zwei zusammengeschobene Einzelbetten) und einen kombinierten Wohn-Schlafraum mit Funktionssofa (1 Element gibt ein vollwertiges Bett, das andere Element ein verkürztes Bett). TV mit deutschen Sendern (ARD;ZDF;RTL;Pro7), Direktwahltelefon.
Große Schränke, in denen sogar die Koffer problemlos verstaut werden können. Die Klimaanlage geht rund um die Uhr und ist individuell einstellbar (Temperaturregler). Kleine Küchenzeile mit Geschirr, 2 Herdplatten und Kühlschrank mit Gefrierfach. Zweckmäßig. Spülmittel und Küchenbasics (Spüllappen, Salz, Zucker, Öl usw.) ist nicht vorhanden. Sehr großer Balkon mit Sitzmöbeln. Zugang von beiden Schlafzimmern aus möglich.
Im Bad ist ein Fön vorhanden, ebenso Seifenspender und Spender für Duschbad/Shampoo. Badewanne mit Duschvorhang und integrierter Anti-Rutsch-Matte.
Die Räume sind durchgehend gefliest, bei jeder Reinigung wurde naß gewischt. Alles in allem guter Eindruck.

Tips and recommendations

unbedingt Waschpulver in ausreichender Menge mitnehmen. Ist im Supermarkt vor dem Hotel sehr teuer.
Ausreichend viel Sonnencreme mitnehmen, kostet vor Ort ein Vermögen!
Günstig einkaufen (mit Auto) kann man bei “Mercadona” (1x in C´an Picafort und 1x in Alcudia). Außerdem haben wir einen deutschen “Drogerie Müller” in Alcudia gegenüber der Altstadtfestung entdeckt, dort bekommt man das klassische deutsche Sortiment zu den bei uns üblichen Preisen (z.B. 1 normale Packung Pampers für 12 €, Babykostgläschen zu realen Preisen, Sonnencreme zu bezahlbaren Preisen). Schönes Hotel Zimmeranzahl etc. kann man der Katalogbeaschreibung entnehmen. Relativ kleiner Pool, vor allem Minikinderbereich, so daß wir diesen gar nicht nutzten. Dafür top Lage zum Strand, was mit kleinen Kindern klasse ist. Vorwiegend deutsche Urlauber, wenige Engländer, Hölländer u. a.-Hotel mit 3 Stockwerken , mit Fahrstuhl, super hellhörig. Vorwiegend Familien mit Kindern, für Singles nicht zu empfehlen, da auch in der näheren Umgebung nichts los ist.

Das Hotel liegt direkt zwischen Alcudia und Can Paicafort. Diese erreicht man nur mit dem Bus oder Taxi. Zu Fuß eher schlecht, da es nur eine stark befahrene Hauptstraße ohne Bürgersteig gibt, mit kleinen Kindern eigentlich unmöglich. Die Busse sind aber restlos überfüllt, vor allem zum Markttag in Alcudia gibt es kein Fortkommen, auch keine Taxis. Ansonsten in der Umgebung nur ein paar Kinderfahrgeschäfte , wenige Läden, kleine Supermärkte und einige Gaststätten. Nur wenige Meter zum Strand, im Wasser öfter mal viel Seegras und der Strand auch an manchen Abschnitten sehr dreckig, was vor allem auf die Urlauber zurückzuführen ist, die einfach alles liegen lassen. Sehr angenehm mit kleinen Kindern , die alles in den Mund nehmen. Wir hatten auch öfter mal bewölkte Tage und auch viel Wind , dadurch viel Wellen, was den Kleinen nicht so gefiel. Ca. 60-80 min Transfer vom Flughafen. Tip unbedingt Mietwagen nehmen und die Insel erkunden!

Personal im Hotel überall sehr freundlich, supergründliche Zimmerreinigung(haben jeden Tag 1 Euro Trinkgeld gegeben), Mittwoch und Sonntags keine Reinigung. Schneller Check- In ,super Service, Habe vorher telefonisch ein Zimmer reservieren lassen und hat alles super geklappt. Waschmaschine und Trockner inklusive, was wir auch genutzt haben.Vom Kinderclub waren wir enttäuscht. Gebäude dafür in super dreckigem Zustand , weshalb wir auch dieses Angebot nicht weiter nutzten. Schön war die Hüpfburg für die Kinder.

Gastronomy

Großes Restaurant, Kinderstühle reichlich vorhanden ,aber hoher Lärmpegel durch die vielen Kinder. Waren immer froh , wenn wir wieder draußen waren, da unsere Kinder beim Essen nicht so viel Krach machen, wie wir es dort erlebt haben. Essen aber wunderbar, für jeden etwas dabei, supervielfältiges Angebot. Getränke recht teuer.

Sport & Entertainment

Zur Animation kann ich nichts sagen, da wir nur am Strand waren, wegen des kleinen Kinderbereichs. Ansonsten am Pool alles sehr sauber, auch die Toiletten top. Liegestühle dicht an dicht, war nicht unser Fall. Kinderdisco abends- habe noch nie so eine schlechte Animation gesehen. Erst immer Musical, aber alles auf englisch, unsere Kinder fanden das deshalb schnell langweilig. Und dann 2 Lieder für die Kinder zum mitmachen. Jeden Abend die selben2 Lieder, im Anschluß jeden Abend ewige Medaillenverleihung, die kein Ende nehmen wollte. Für unsere Kinder megalangweilig, da sie tagsüber nicht im Kinderclub waren und somit auch keine Medaille bekamen, was sie dann immer ärgerte. Also da haben wir echt schon besseres gesehen.

Zimmer ausreichend groß, zweckmäßig eingerichtet , große Terrasse.Manko die Hellhörigkeit. Wir hatten noch nie so ein hellhöriges Hotel gehabt. Die Stühle und Tische haben keine Filzgleiter, so das man von der untersten Etage alles mitbekommt . Hatten ein Zimmer ganz oben und Gott sei Dank niemanden über uns. Aber auch die Nachbarn, so laut zu hören, als wären keine Wände drin. Dadurch hatten wir etwas Schlafprobleme mit unseren Kindern.Wenn man es ruhiger will kein Zimmer zur Poolseite nehmen, Animation sehr laut. Außerdem Block 1 wählen Richtung Iberostar Hotel, ist ruhiger.Wir hatten Zimmer 1306 , war ok , wobei die Zimmer vorn mit Meerblick sicher die schönsten sind.

Tips and recommendations

Also einigermaßen weiter zu empfehlendes Hotel, Preis Leistungsverhältnis ok , wobei ich nebenan das Iberostar weitaus schöner fand, ist natürlich auch etwas teurer.

Hotel Viva Bahia “Brilliant Family Holiday”

Just returned from a week long stay at the Viva bahia, I booked after checking tripadvisor reviews and as with the previous comments you wont be dissapointed with this as a family destination. The apartments are lovely and have very well and beautifully laid out pool area with direct access to the beach. There is a bouncy castle free of charge just at beach entrance and small crazy golf area, although we didnt use this the putters and ball are available from reception. Table tennis, pool and internet area also in reception area. The pool is quite large with deep end 1.6 at end facing beach cafe, the center and top are 1.4 with a very small section closed off for shallow end for the little ones.

There is also a separate paddling pool, tiny, for the tots and it would be advisable if you want a bed near this to go down 8.50 no later then 9 as these beds were always gone before 9. It seemed to be the area to be in with the tiny tots as had lots of shade also. The left hand side of the pool area (walking from reception) got the sun from early morning, the right hand side always had beds available as it was in the shade until 11.30 – 12.00 although I do agree with rest of reviewers we never had a problem getting a bed it was very refined walk to place your towel and towels left before 9.15 were removed if you didnt stay put! The food at the beach bar was nice enough the usual and had a take away service also, we loved the four oclock strawberries and cream hour where the entertainment staff served these with freshly squeezed orange juice and waffles and really resonable prices, €2.40 for large sundae of strawberries and cream….

The apartment was large and there were three adults and one child in our group and this was very adequate, large changing and sink area off the shower bathroom which was handy, the cooking facilites were minimum so if you cook all your meals in (we never cooked once) its only adequate for snacks. The welcome pack was handy as we had late arrival and contained fruit, wine, 4 large bottles water, coke, beer, butter, salt, eggs, bread rolls, yougurt and orange juice, 4 of each. I booked directly through hotel website [--] and flights through aerlingus[--], we had brilliant taxi service which picked us up in mercedes from airport and return was just as promt, all in all the holiday booked independantly this way was very resonable and worked out at €415 per person.

The hotel was mainly german or swedish with small amount of english familys, very nice clientele and family atmosphere, we had a look at the alcudia pins and apartmentone next to this and it was awful in comparison so we were really happy with our choice. Entertainment geared only for kiddies but they seemed to love this and stops at 11.00 – 11.30 we headed into can picfort and the promenade at beach had best souvenier shopping and eating. Taxi cost either to alcudia center or other direction to can picfort was between 5.70 – 6.50 depending on time of day. There is a bus service directly across main road to either and this was 90 cent – 1.50 to alcudia center.
